Wilderness therapy is the opportunity and permission to get creative with therapy. Wilderness therapy can happen inside and out.

Indoors, wilderness therapy could be working with plants, working with nature images as visual representations or working with any experimental form of therapy.

Outside wilderness therapy can take the form of meeting outside, going on a hike, working with horses or other animals.

What I love about wilderness therapy is that the options are endless and nature often reflects and creates metaphors for us that we could not come to with just talking. Sometimes we need to look outside ourselves for answers that we already have.
